With the crater that it created sitting in the Southwestern USA, it is one of the best preserved craters in the world.
In 1891, Albert Foote wrote the first scientific paper about meteorites in Northern Arizona and did so after being presented with a rock that he knew immediately was a meteorite.
From that point forward, Meteor Crater and the Canyon Diablo meteorite have been the topic of study for many meteoriticists throughout the last 130 years.
These meteorites for sale are all in their "as recovered" condition... meaning not windowed, scrubbed, or cleaned. These are great examples for students and people interested in getting their hands on their first ever iron meteorite!
